Dad is Dead periodically sends you a simple check-in by email or SMS. You confirm you're still here by clicking a link. If you stop responding after multiple reminders, your custodians are automatically notified and granted access to your vault. This is what makes us different from just a cloud storage folder.
Custodian access controls
A custodian is a person you designate — a family member, attorney, or trusted friend — who will be notified and given access to your documents when you pass. You control who they are, what each of them can see, and in what priority order they're notified. They cannot access anything while you're alive unless you explicitly allow it.
Secure document storage
Upload wills, insurance policies, advance directives, financial statements, and any other important files. We encrypt wills, insurance policies, advance directives, and final-message audio and video with AES before storing them. Photos and miscellaneous files are not individually encrypted by us. Our API accepts HTTPS connections only.
Microsoft EntraID login
We use Microsoft's enterprise identity platform for authentication. We never store or see your password. Your account is protected by the same security standards used by Fortune 500 companies.

Your vault is available 24/7 from any device with an internet connection. Your custodians get access the moment they're supposed to — no delays, no complicated processes.
Granular visibility controls
Control what each custodian can see, item by item. Hide sensitive items, show some right away, and set others to unlock only after death. You can also limit an individual item to specific custodians — a note meant for one person, an account only one of them should know about. You're always in charge.
